Ginger Rice

  • 3 cups jasmine rice
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 tablespoons julienned ginger
  • 1 head garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Ginger Rice Directions

  1. Rinse the rice in water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water to cover until the grains are completely opaque.
  2. Drain off the water and place the rice in a heavy-bottomed pot with the 3 cups of water and the ginger. Cover and place on the stove at high heat until the water starts to simmer, then reduce to medium. Keep covered so the rice can steam—it should take approximately 9 to 12 minutes.
  3. While rice is cooking, toast the minced garlic in the vegetable oil until golden brown. Dress the cooked rice with the toasted garlic and oil.
