Grapefruit Shrub Syrup


For 1 Batch(es)


  • 1 organic grapefruit
  • 1 cups white vinegar
  • 1 cups sugar

Grapefruit Shrub Syrup Directions

  1. Wash one pint jar and lid with hot, soapy water but do not dry. 
  2. Peel the grapefruit rind in strips, using a vegetable peeler, and pack the strips into the jar. Pour the vinegar over the rind strips and allow to infuse at room temperature for 24 hours. 
  3. Strain the vinegar and combine with the sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Return the syrup to a freshly washed and un-dried pint jar. 
  4. Allow the liquid to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for up to 6 months.
