Fine-straining refers to straining the cocktail with both the Hawthorne strainer (attached to the mixing glass) and a mesh or tea strainer held by your non-pouring hand between the shaker and the glass. This technique will catch all of the herb or fruit particles and make for a perfectly clean cocktail.
For 1 Person(s)
1 1/2 ounces Hendrick’s gin
1/2 ounces Maraschino
1 liqueur
1/2 ounces lime juice
1/4 ounces simple syrup
1 dashes lemon bitters
1/4 cups blueberries
2 basil leaves
4 mint leaves
Blue Ribbon Cocktail Directions
Muddle fruit and herbs in the bottom of a mixing glass.
Add spirits, juice and bitters then shake with ice and fine-strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon twist on a basil “boat.”
