Homemade Teriyaki Sauce

Super easy

2/3 cups mirin (Japanese sweet rice wine)
1 cups soy sauce
4 1/2 teaspoons rice vinegar
1 teaspoons sesame oil
cups brown or cane sugar (or more to taste)
7 cloves garlic, minced
tablespoons minced fresh ginger
1/2 teaspoons red pepper flakes or hot chili oil
Black pepper to taste

Homemade Teriyaki Sauce Directions

Bring mirin to a boil in a saucepan over high heat.

Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 10 minutes.

Add soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil and sugar to combine.

Add garlic, ginger, pepper flakes and black pepper and simmer for 5 minutes.

Cool mixture and store in a tightly sealed container in the refrigerator.
