Ingredients
- 1 thick slice(s) walnut bread
- 2 tablespoons red wine
- 3 thick slices Quadrille di Bufala
- 1 teaspoon(s) rosemary, finely chopped
Instructions
- Place the sliced bread on a sheet tray, then lightly brush the bread with red wine—just enough to moisten but not to soak.
- Quadrello di Bufala is a water buffalo cheese from Italy that melts great; a few thick slices on each piece will do.
- Place the bread under the broiler and let it roast until the cheese is golden brown and bubbly.
- Garnish with chopped rosemary to complement the well-roasted cheese.
Notes
At this point, if you add a fried egg on top, you’ve just made what’s known as a “Golden Buck.”
